The Veterinary Service inspects all food items produced by local or central procurement for Armed Forces use.

The Veterinary Treatment Facility operates as an outpatient clinic for the treatment of zoonotic diseases and the immunization of privately owned animals. The VTF assists Housing in-registering animals living on-post.

The Fort Lewis Branch operates the Stray Animal Facility for Fort Lewis, and unclaimed animals are put up for adoption.

Hours of Operation: Mon-Fri 0730-1600

Policies:
  • Animals are seen on an appointment-only basis.
  • All cats must be in an enclosed carrier.
  • All dogs must be on a leash.
  • No children under 10 years of age are allowed in the clinic.
